Preview Image

The Preview Image widget provides a primary visual reference for each claim, enabling team members to quickly identify and understand the nature of a claim at a glance. This image appears prominently on the main claim card and within the claim sidebar, offering immediate visual context for issues such as damaged items, incorrect products, or other claim-related concerns.

Claim Preview Image

The Preview Image feature facilitates visual communication and quick claim identification throughout the claim lifecycle. By setting representative images, team members can rapidly assess claim types, severity, and context without needing to open the full claim details. Preview images serve as visual summaries that help prioritise claims, support faster decision-making, and ensure all stakeholders have immediate visual context when reviewing claim lists or dashboards.

The system supports standard image formats (PNG and JPG) and provides straightforward upload and deletion capabilities. Each claim can have multiple preview images, with new uploads being added to the existing collection, allowing you to build a comprehensive visual reference library for the claim. Preview images often highlight visible defect or damage context so triage teams can prioritise without opening every attachment. They complement—not replace—detailed evidence stored under Files.

Core Preview Image Actions

These actions are available to all users with access to the claim and allow for basic preview image management.

Feature Description
Upload Image Click the image area in the sidebar to open the preview image pop-up, then drag and drop a PNG or JPG file into the designated area, or click the upload box to select a file from your computer. Once uploaded, the image is added to the existing preview images collection and is saved automatically. You can upload multiple images to build a comprehensive visual reference library for the claim. (Available to all users) Claim Preview Image

Important Notes When Using Preview Images

Image Selection: Choose clear, high-resolution images that best summarise the claim's issue. Representative images help team members quickly understand the nature of the claim without needing to review detailed documentation. For example, use photos showing specific product damage, incorrect items received, or other visual evidence relevant to the claim.

Multiple Image Upload: You can upload multiple preview images to build a comprehensive visual reference library. Each new upload is added to the existing collection, allowing you to document different angles, stages, or aspects of the claim issue. This enables a more complete visual record of the claim situation.

Image Deletion: Deleted preview images are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Exercise caution when deleting preview images, especially if the image contains important visual evidence that may be referenced in other parts of the system or required for claim resolution. When deleting an image, only that specific image is removed—other preview images in the collection remain intact.

File Size Considerations: While the system accepts standard image formats, very large image files may take longer to upload and display. Consider optimising images before upload to ensure fast loading times and optimal user experience. Recommended image dimensions are typically between 800x600 and 1920x1080 pixels.

Visual Consistency: Maintain visual consistency by using similar image types and compositions across related claims. This helps team members quickly identify patterns and common issues across multiple claims. When uploading multiple images, consider organising them to show different perspectives or stages of the issue.

Access Control: Preview image visibility follows the same access control rules as the claim itself. All users with access to the claim can view, upload, and delete preview images. Ensure sensitive information is not included in preview images if external users (e.g., suppliers) have access to the claim.

Claim History: All preview image changes, including uploads and deletions, are logged in the claim history. This provides a complete audit trail of visual reference updates throughout the claim lifecycle.
