Component Colours & Pricing

The Colours & Pricing section is where you define the different colour options and their associated prices for a component. This allows for precise visual tracking and financial control over every material used in your product lifecycle.

Component > Colours & Pricing View

The Colours & Pricing feature enables you to manage colour variants and their associated pricing for each component. Colour variants represent the different shades or visual options available, whilst component pricing defines the financial details for each colour option. Managing these correctly ensures a consistent visual representation across all your products and helps your teams to budget and quote accurately. The list of available colours is configured centrally in Site Settings > Style > Colour, ensuring consistency across all components.

Important Notes When Using Colours & Pricing

Admin Setup Required: Both the Colour and Currency lists are configured under Site Settings. Ensure these are set up correctly before users begin managing components.

Disable Instead of Delete: If a colour is only used for a specific season or is temporarily unavailable, disable it using the check circle rather than deleting it. This preserves all associated pricing history and allows you to easily reactivate the colour for future use.

Price History: Historical pricing data is retained when you view the Buy & Costing Price History. Use this to track cost changes over time and support accurate budgeting.

Best Practices

Use Image Swatches for Better Accuracy: For components with distinct textures, like fabrics or patterned materials, upload a high-quality image swatch instead of just selecting a block colour. This provides a more precise visual representation for your design and production teams, helping to avoid confusion and ensure the final product matches the intended look.

Disable Seasonal Colours Instead of Deleting: If a colour is only used for a specific season or is temporarily unavailable, it is better to disable it using the check circle rather than deleting it. This preserves all associated pricing history and allows you to easily reactivate the colour for future use, saving you from having to re-enter the data from scratch.

Conduct Regular Price Audits: Make it a routine to periodically review the pricing of your key components. Supplier rates and market conditions can change, so keeping your component costs up-to-date is essential for accurate style costing, effective budgeting, and protecting your profit margins.
