Component Preview Image
The Preview Image feature allows you to upload a thumbnail image to visually represent a component. This improves recognition and makes browsing and identifying components in search results and listings much more efficient. Choose imagery that reflects the material or trim—swatch shots, trim laydowns, or supplier references—so similar items remain distinguishable at a glance.
The Preview Image feature provides a visual identifier for each component record, enabling quick recognition when browsing search results, listings, or component cards. A clear thumbnail helps team members distinguish between similar components at a glance and streamlines navigation across the platform. Images can be uploaded in PNG or JPG format and are displayed in the component's preview pane.
Core Actions
These actions are available to all users with access to the component record and allow for basic preview image management.

| Upload Preview Image | Click on the image area in the component card to open the image upload pop-up. Click the upload box to select a PNG or JPG file from your computer, or drag and drop the file into the upload area. Once uploaded, the image will instantly appear in the component's preview pane. (Available to all users) |
| Delete Preview Image | Click the trash icon located next to the preview image to remove it. Confirm the deletion by selecting Yes in the pop-up confirmation dialog. (Available to all users) |
Important Notes When Using Preview Images
Image Deletion: Deleted preview images are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Ensure you have a copy of the image elsewhere if you may need it again.
Supported Formats: Only PNG and JPG file formats are supported for preview images. Ensure your image is in one of these formats before uploading.
Best Practices
Use Clear Thumbnails: Choose images that clearly represent the component at a glance. High-contrast, well-lit images work best for quick identification.
Consistent Sizing: Whilst the system will display your image in the preview pane, using consistently sized images across components can improve the visual consistency of listings and search results.
