History
The History section is the audit trail for file and folder actions on a costing record, supporting compliance and traceability. Each line captures who acted, what changed, and the affected item in chronological order. Filters and search help you narrow long timelines when investigating uploads, downloads, or moves. It complements line-level cost changes by proving who touched quotation PDFs, breakdown spreadsheets, or other commercial attachments tied to unit price, freight, duty, and margin discussions. Commercial and audit teams use it when pricing disputes hinge on which document version was current at approval.

Important Notes When Using History
History Retention: History logs are retained for a maximum of 180 days. Plan your audits and reviews accordingly, and export or document critical information before it ages out.
Search Scope: Search and filter operate on the currently loaded history. For large costing records, use specific keywords or column filters to narrow results.
Best Practices
Use Descriptive File Names: Encourage users to add clear, descriptive file names to make history logs more readable and easier to search.
Monitor Access Patterns: Regularly review download history to track document access trends and identify potential security concerns or workflow bottlenecks.
Plan for Retention: Be aware of the 180-day retention limit when planning audits or compliance reviews. Export or document important history entries before they expire.
