Create a Chart

Creating a chart lets you see your business data in a way that's easy to understand. You can track sales, production, or any other numbers that matter to you.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • Ensure you have access to the Dashboard module
  • Know which application (Order, Style, etc.) contains the data you want to visualise
  • Consider which chart type (bar, line, pie) best represents your data

How to Create a Chart

  1. Click the Add Chart button at the top left of the dashboard.
  2. In the window that appears on the right:
    • Give your chart a name (for example, "Monthly Sales")
    • Choose which part of your business you want to see data from
    • Pick the type of chart you want (bar, line, pie, etc.)
    • Choose a color for your chart
    • Turn data labels on or off (these show the numbers on the chart)
    • Add filters to focus on the data you care about (like a certain product or time period)
  3. Click the "Add Chart" button at the top left of the dashboard.
  4. In the right-side popup:
    • Enter the name of the chart
    • Select the application to drill data from
    • Choose the desired chart style
    • Pick a chart color of your choice
    • Enable or disable data labels
    • Apply filters specific to the selected application to refine your results further
  5. Once configurations are complete, click Add.
Info

After saving, the chart becomes interactive. Users can click on it to view results based on their configurations.

Troubleshooting

Why does my new chart show no data or an empty chart?

Filters or the chosen application may exclude all rows, or the selected metric may have no values in the current period.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Edit the chart and widen or clear filters tied to the application.
  2. Confirm the underlying application actually has records in the date or status range you expect.
  3. Try a simpler chart type temporarily to verify data is returning before reapplying styling.
Why can I not add a chart or the Add button does nothing?

Permissions, session expiry, or pop-up blockers can prevent the chart configuration panel from working.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Refresh the dashboard and sign in again if the session timed out.
  2. Disable pop-up blocking for your 3 Clicks domain if the right-side panel fails to open.
  3. Ask an administrator whether your role is allowed to create or edit dashboard charts.
Why do numbers on the chart not match what I see elsewhere in the app?

Dashboard charts use the filters and application scope defined in the widget, which may differ from other screens.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Open the chart’s configuration and review filters and source application.
  2. Remember that clicking the saved chart drills into results based on that widget’s configuration.
  3. Align date ranges and status filters with the report or list you are comparing against.
