Glossary of platform terms

Short definitions for common 3 Clicks Cloud concepts. Many of these are maintained under Site Settings for your company; others belong to specific modules such as Order, Style, Compliance, or Costing.

A

Arrival Zone

A site-wide reference used in shipping and logistics to describe where goods are expected to arrive (for example, a port or warehouse). Configure arrival zones under Site Settings → Company → Arrival Zone so they can be selected consistently on orders and shipments.

Audit Code

A classification or identifier applied to compliance audits so teams can group, filter, and report on audit activity. Audit codes are set up in Site Settings → Compliance → Audit Code and used when working with compliance records and reporting.

Audit Type

Defines the kind of compliance audit being performed (for example, social, environmental, or product safety). Audit types are maintained in Site Settings → Compliance → Audit Type and drive options and behaviour when creating or viewing compliance audits.

Auditor

A person or organisation recorded as performing an audit. Auditors are configured under Site Settings → Compliance → Auditor and can be linked to compliance records for traceability and reporting.

B

Brand

The brand name or label associated with styles and product lines. Brands are managed in Site Settings → Style → Brand and appear on style definitions, searches, and reports where brand filtering is required.

Buyer

The buying role or buyer entity associated with purchasing decisions, often linked to orders or company structure. Buyers are maintained under Site Settings → Company → Buyer for use across the platform where buyer assignment matters.

C

Category

A hierarchical or flat grouping for styles (for example, apparel type or product class). Categories are defined in Site Settings → Style → Category and help organise the style library, navigation, and reporting.

Collection

A merchandising or design grouping that bundles styles for a season or capsule. Collections are set up in Site Settings → Style → Collection and are commonly used on styles, planner views, and range planning.

Colour

Colourways for styles, components, or order lines, including naming and sometimes pricing. Colour configuration lives under Site Settings → Style → Colour; colour also appears on order and component colour grids and pricing.

Component

A bill-of-materials style item (fabric, trim, label, etc.) that can be costed, ordered, and linked to styles. The Component module manages component records; related defaults and types are under Site Settings → Component.

Compliance

Records and workflows for standards, audits, and certifications. The Compliance module holds compliance items; Site Settings → Compliance controls audit types, auditors, critical path, and related reference data.

Corrective Action Plan

A structured follow-up plan when a compliance issue is identified, documenting actions, owners, and timelines. Corrective action plans are part of the Compliance module and are documented in compliance-specific help topics.

Cost Center

A financial or organisational code used to allocate costs to departments or budgets. Cost centres are configured in Site Settings → Company → Cost Center and may flow through to costing and reporting where cost allocation is required.

Critical Path

The sequence of milestones and dates that governs delivery of an order, style, or compliance item. Critical path templates and activities are configured under Site Settings for Order, Style, or Compliance, and appear on records and side widgets.

Currency

The monetary unit used for prices, costing, and (where enabled) multi-currency displays. Currencies are maintained in Site Settings → Company → Currency and work with exchange rates in costing.

Custom Fields

Additional data fields beyond the standard form, defined per module. Custom fields for orders, styles, components, and shipping are set under the relevant Site Settings section and appear on detail screens and imports.

Customer

A business or account you sell to, used in sales orders, B2B portals, and reporting. Customers are managed under Site Settings → Company → Customer and link to the Customer Portal and Sales Order areas.

D

Dashboard

Configurable charts and KPIs built from your data. The Dashboard module lets you create and edit charts; dashboards summarise activity across orders, styles, and other entities.

Definition Tags

Tags applied to style definitions for filtering, reporting, or workflow. Definition tags are configured in Site Settings → Style → Definition Tags and appear on style definition screens.

Department

An internal division or team used to categorise orders or workload. Departments are set up under Site Settings → Order → Department and can be used when assigning or reporting on orders.

Destination

The end location for a shipment (country, region, or site-specific destination). Destinations are maintained in Site Settings → Shipping → Destination and are selected on shipping records and related workflows.

Drive

The file and folder area for storing and sharing documents linked to the platform. The Drive module provides Manage Files and integration with records across modules.

Drop

A delivery or launch grouping within a season (sometimes called a “drop” in retail). Drops are configured under Site Settings → Style → Drop and associate styles with timed releases or deliveries.

E

eCommerce Status

The published or integration state of a style for online channels (for example, whether it is live on a connected store). eCommerce status appears on style side widgets and related style settings and integrations such as Shopify.

Exchange Rates

Rates used to convert between currencies when viewing or calculating costs. Exchange rates are maintained from Costing side widgets and Site Settings → Costing context, and support multi-currency costing.

F

Forms

Configurable data-capture forms attached to orders (checklists, questionnaires, or approvals). Forms are defined under Site Settings → Order → Forms and surfaced via order side widgets.

Freight

Shipping cost components or freight charge types used in costing and shipment planning. Freight setup is under Site Settings → Costing → Freight and relates to Shipping and costing records.

Freight Status

A status value describing the state of freight on a shipment (for example, booked, in transit). Freight statuses are configured in Site Settings → Shipping → Freight Status.

G

Gender

Product gender classification for styles (men’s, women’s, unisex, etc.). Gender values are maintained in Site Settings → Style → Gender and appear on style definitions and filters.

Groups

Planner groupings used to organise styles or plans by team, channel, or category. Groups are set under Site Settings → Planner → Groups and are used in the Planner module.

I

Import Duty

Duty or tariff percentages applied when costing imported goods. Import duty rules are configured under Site Settings → Costing → Import Duty and feed into costing calculations.

L

Label

A printable or exportable label generated from a record (order, style, compliance, etc.). The Label side widget exists across modules; label formats may depend on Site Settings such as barcode configuration.

License

A licensing agreement that links licensors, products, and royalty terms. The License module manages license records; Site Settings → Style → License and Site Settings → License control defaults and general licence settings.

Licensor

The rights holder or brand owner on a licence. Licensors are configured under Site Settings → Style → Licensor and connect to styles and licence records.

M

Members

Users or contacts granted access to a specific record (order, style, shipment, etc.). Members side widgets let you add collaborators; membership often respects Roles and Permissions.

Milestone

A dated checkpoint on an order’s critical path (design approval, production start, ex-factory, etc.). Milestones are defined in Site Settings → Order → Milestone and appear on order critical path views.

O

Order

A production or purchase order tracking styles, quantities, dates, and specifications. The Order module is central to PLM operations; order defaults and activities are under Site Settings → Order.

Origin

The dispatch or shipping origin for freight (warehouse, country, or site). Origins are set in Site Settings → Shipping → Origin and are used when creating shipments.

P

Pack Type

How units are packed (inner pack, carton, ratio, etc.). Pack types are configured under Site Settings → Order → Pack and inform order quantity and packing breakdowns.

Planner

Seasonal or range planning for styles, budgets, and option plans. The Planner module works with Site Settings → Planner for groups, targets, and general planner behaviour.

POM (Point of Measure)

A measurement point on a garment or product specification (for example, chest width, inseam). POM appears in specifications and grading; Specification POM in site settings defines the master list of measurement points.

Preview Image

The primary image shown for a record in lists and headers. Preview Image side widgets exist across modules to set or replace the main thumbnail.

Q

QA Test

Quality assurance checks or test types applied during order testing. QA tests are configured under Site Settings → Order → QA Test and relate to order testing workflows and documentation.

R

Reports

Built-in and admin-configured reports across modules (order, style, compliance, costing, etc.). The Reports section of the documentation lists report types per module; some reports depend on Site Settings reference data.

Roles and Permissions

Security roles that control which menus, records, and actions a user can access. Configured under Site Settings → Company → Roles and Permissions; applies across all modules and portals.

Royalties

Payments or percentages owed to a licensor based on sales or units. Royalties are managed in the License module (Royalties topics) and tie back to licence items and agreements.

S

Sales Order

Customer-facing orders for wholesale or B2B sales, distinct from production orders where applicable. The Sales Order module and Site Settings → Sales Order cover details, styles, and side widgets.

Sample Category

Classification of sample types (fit, photo, salesman, etc.). Sample categories are under Site Settings → Company → Sample Category and are used on order and style sample workflows.

Sample Report

Documentation of sample submissions, approvals, or test results. Sample reports appear in Order and Style sample areas and in Supplier Portal sample topics.

Season

The merchandising season or year (for example, SS26). Seasons are configured in Site Settings → Style → Season and filter styles, planner entries, and reports.

Shipping Method

Carrier or service level used for a shipment (air, sea, courier). Shipping methods are maintained under Site Settings → Shipping → Shipping Method.

Size Scales

Size runs and grading bases (for example, S–XL, numeric sizes). Size scales are set in Site Settings → Style → Size Scales and link to specifications and orders.

Spec Template

A reusable specification layout defining sections and fields for styles. Spec templates are configured under Site Settings → Style → Spec Template and drive style specification screens and imports.

Specification POM

The master list of measurement points and tolerances for specifications. Managed in Site Settings → Style → Specification POM; used when building style specs and POM grids.

Status

The lifecycle state of a record (draft, approved, cancelled, etc.). Status side widgets and site-wide status lists appear per module; exact values depend on module settings.

Store Locations

Retail or warehouse locations used for allocation, B2B, or reporting. Store locations are configured under Site Settings → Company → Store Locations.

Story

A narrative or marketing line used to describe a style’s positioning. Stories are set up under Site Settings → Style → Story and appear on style definitions where enabled.

Style

A product style or SKU parent that holds design, specs, colours, and related orders. The Style module and Site Settings → Style cover the full style lifecycle.

Suppliers

Vendor companies that provide materials or manufacturing. Suppliers are maintained under Site Settings → Company → Suppliers and connect to the Supplier Portal and purchasing workflows.

T

Tariff

Product-level tariff or duty classification codes used for compliance or costing references. Tariffs are configured under Site Settings → Style → Tariff and may support import costing and documentation.

Tax

Tax codes or rates applied to pricing and costing where configured. Tax settings are under Site Settings → Company → Tax.

Terms

Standard payment or trading terms (for example, net 30). Terms are maintained in Site Settings → Company → Terms and can apply to customers and commercial documents.

Type

A high-level classification of styles (product type or hierarchy). Style types are configured under Site Settings → Style → Type and support filtering and reporting across the style library.
