Create an Order
This outlines the process of creating orders within the system. It covers creating orders for single items or in bulk, as well as creating orders from various locations within the application, such as the top menu, style section, component section, and sales order section. It also provides helpful tips for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the order creation process.
Quick Check - Before You Start
- Ensure your administrator has configured required fields in Site Settings > Order > General Settings
- Verify you have the correct permissions to create orders
- If using Enforce Component Compliance, confirm compliance records exist for your supplier/customer combinations
How to Create an Order
- Click the Create button at the top of the page.
- Select Order from the dropdown menu.
- A pop-up will appear where you can enter the required details.
Info
Required fields are configured by your administrator in Site Settings.
Component Compliance Validation
When Enforce Component Compliance is enabled in Site Settings > Order > General Settings, the system validates component compliance during Order creation. If a valid compliance is not found for the selected component supplier/customer combination, a warning message will be displayed, and you will not be able to share the order with Supplier members or generate purchase orders until compliance requirements are met.

For Single-Item Orders
- Use the search box to find and select a single style or component.
- This action creates a simple, single-item order.

For Bulk Orders
- Use the Bulk Order field to choose the type of items (e.g., Styles or Components).
- The search results will be filtered to show only those item types.
- Select multiple items and click Add to create your order.

Next Steps
Troubleshooting
Why are required fields missing from the order creation form?
Required fields are configured by your administrator in Site Settings > Order > General Settings. If fields are missing, they may not have been enabled.
Steps to resolve:
- Contact your administrator to review the order field configuration
- Navigate to Site Settings > Order > General Settings
- Verify the required fields are enabled and correctly configured
Why am I getting a component compliance warning when creating an order?
When Enforce Component Compliance is enabled, the system validates that a valid compliance record exists for the selected component supplier/customer combination. Without a matching compliance record, you cannot share the order with Supplier members or generate purchase orders.
Steps to resolve:
- Check Site Settings > Order > General Settings to confirm compliance enforcement is active
- Navigate to the Compliance module and verify a valid record exists for your supplier/customer combination
- If no compliance record exists, create one before proceeding with the order
Why are my bulk order items not appearing in the search results?
The bulk order search filters results by item type (Styles or Components). If you cannot find an item, the wrong type may be selected.
Steps to resolve:
- In the Bulk Order field, confirm the correct item type is selected (e.g., Styles or Components)
- Re-enter your search term
- If the item still does not appear, verify it exists in the relevant module (Style or Component)
