Comments

The Comments section in the Order application provides a collaborative thread for internal and external discussions about a specific order. It facilitates real-time feedback, clarification, and record-keeping across teams.

This section allows you to leave comments, reply to threads, and manage the communication history throughout an order's lifecycle. Key features ensure that important notes are highlighted and sensitive information is restricted where necessary. Teams often use this thread for order lifecycle discussions, purchase order references, and supplier coordination when production dates or quantities shift. It is well suited to capturing production updates alongside informal notes. Keeping context on the order record reduces reliance on email for critical decisions.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • Decide if a comment should be locked before posting when it must stay internal-only.
  • Use @ mentions when specific people must be notified in larger teams.

Helpful Tips

  • Use threaded replies to maintain context during extended conversations.
  • Pin mission-critical updates (e.g., pricing changes or delivery notes) for visibility.
  • Lock comments if they are only intended for internal departments, such as planning or finance.

Troubleshooting

Why can a supplier see my comment?

Only locked comments are restricted to internal users. Public comments remain visible according to your organisation’s sharing rules.

What to do: Add a new locked comment with the sensitive detail removed from the public thread if needed.

Why does @ mention not show the person I need?

The picker lists up to ten matches. Type more characters to narrow the list or confirm the colleague has access to the order.

How do I find unread updates quickly?

Look for the blue dot unread indicator next to new comments in the thread.
