Create Order

The Create allows users to initiate purchase orders either as a Single Item Order or a Bulk Order. The form dynamically adjusts based on the type of order selected, providing a streamlined experience across styles and components.

Orders are initiated from the top navigation or relevant application sections. Required fields are defined in Site Settings > Order > General Settings > Mandatory Fields and must be completed to successfully create an order. The side panel and contextual Create Order entry points let you raise a new order from the order, style, component, sales order, or costing screen you already have open. That supports follow‑on orders and splits without losing place in your workflow.

  • Review Mandatory Fields so you know what the create form will require.
  • If Enforce Component Compliance is on, confirm valid compliance exists for your supplier or customer combination before you need supplier sharing or purchase orders.

How to Create an Order

To begin:

  • Click the Create button on the main header and select Order from the dropdown.
  • A popup will appear prompting you to fill in the required fields.

Component Compliance Validation

When Enforce Component Compliance is enabled in Site Settings > Order > General Settings, the system validates component compliance during Order creation. If a valid compliance is not found for the selected component supplier/customer combination, a warning message will be displayed, and you will not be able to share the order with Supplier members or generate purchase orders until compliance requirements are met.

For Single Item Orders

  • Use the search box to find and select a single style or component.
  • Selecting only one item will maintain the order in single item format.

For Bulk Orders

  • Use the Bulk Order field to specify the item type (e.g., Styles or Components).
  • The search results will filter accordingly.
  • Select multiple items and click Add to complete the order creation.

Create Orders from Other Applications

Orders can also be created directly from context-specific locations to streamline workflows.

From the Main Create Button

  • Accessible from the top header for quick access to the order form.

From the Style Application

  • Use the Create Order button in the style's side widget.
  • You may also create orders directly from the Sales Order tab of a style.

If the style is in Draft, its status automatically updates to Approved when you create an order for it. See Style › Status.

From the Component Application

  • Navigate to the component view and click Create Order in the side widget.

  • Use the Create Order button from the sales order sidebar to initiate a linked order.

  • The Create Order button will only appear once the Costing is set to Completed status.

Tip

  • Ensure that the Site Settings > Application include all necessary dropdowns and configurations.
  • Use bulk orders for faster entry when managing multiple items.
  • Review and audit your item types and fields regularly for accuracy.

Troubleshooting

Why does the create form block me from continuing?

Mandatory fields are controlled in Site Settings. Fill every required field shown in the pop-up or ask an administrator to adjust Mandatory Fields if something should be optional.

Why am I warned about component compliance when creating an order?

With Enforce Component Compliance enabled, the system checks supplier and customer compliance for the selected component. Resolve the compliance gap or adjust selection before sharing with suppliers or generating purchase orders.

Why is Create Order missing from Costing?

The Create Order action appears from Costing only after that costing is set to Completed status.
