Critical Path Summary

The Critical Path Summary widget provides a visual overview of the current status of all tasks and milestones associated with an order’s critical path. This enables users to quickly assess order health and identify any delays.

The critical path is used to monitor key production and delivery events tied to an order. This summary simplifies this into progress percentages, allowing quick tracking at a glance without needing to open the full critical path tab. The percentages reflect order production timeline milestones and how they align with factory and internal deadlines. Treat the widget as a quick health check before you open the full critical path to adjust tasks or dates.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • View the widget from the order detail right-hand sidebar where Critical Path Summary appears.
  • If percentages look stale, open the full Order Critical Path tab to refresh tasks and dates.

How It Works

Metric Description
Completed Percentage of tasks marked as completed.
Outstanding Percentage of tasks that are not yet started or in progress.
Overdue Percentage of tasks past their due dates without completion.

Troubleshooting

Why are all bars at zero percent?

The summary reflects tasks on the order critical path. If no tasks exist or none are scheduled yet, percentages stay at zero until data is entered on Order Critical Path.

Why does Outstanding stay high even though the order feels done?

Outstanding includes tasks not started or still in progress. Complete or reschedule remaining milestones on the full critical path to move the percentages.

How do I fix overdue tasks?

Click through to Order Critical Path from the widget, update dates, complete work, or reassign owners for tasks shown as overdue.
