Delete
The Delete function in the Order application allows authorised users to remove specific order items. This is typically done in cases of errors, cancellations, or changes in customer requirements. To ensure audit integrity and control, this feature is permission-restricted.
Order deletion is a straightforward action available through the sidebar widget. It permanently removes the selected order item from the system and cannot be undone without re-entering the order manually.
Deletion is only available to staff members who have been granted the appropriate permissions. Permanently removing an order record clears that transaction from active lists and linked workflows, so use it when the entire order line should cease to exist in the system. This differs from completing or cancelling an order where the record typically remains visible for history and reporting.
Quick Check - Before You Start
- Confirm you are deleting the intended order item; the action is permanent for that line.
- Verify your account has Order > Delete permission in Roles & Permissions.

How to Delete an Order Item
To delete an order item:
- Click the delete icon in the sidebar widget of order page.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear.
- Click Confirm to complete the deletion.
Permissions Required
Only users with delete permission for the Order application will see the delete icon. Permission levels can be configured in Site Settings > Company > Roles & Permissions > Order. Users with the appropriate Order > Delete permissions can successfully delete orders from Order Search > Bulk Action > Delete as expected.

Troubleshooting
Why do I not see the delete icon on the order?
Delete is permission-gated. Users without Order > Delete rights will not see the control.
What to do: Request access in Site Settings > Company > Roles & Permissions > Order or ask an authorised colleague to perform the deletion.
Can I undo a delete?
The removed order item cannot be automatically restored. Recreate the order or line from source documents and add a comment noting the correction.
Does deleting from the widget remove the whole order?
This flow removes the selected order item from the system as described in the confirmation step—treat it as irreversible for that item.
