Option Plan
The Option Plan tab is a critical tool within the Planner application, offering a comprehensive, read-only view of all styles included in a plan. It plays an essential role in helping planners and merchandising teams:
- Evaluate the assortment mix
- Review financial projections
- Monitor intake schedules
- Validate style-level metrics in a structured and visual format
This ensures that key planning data is centralised, consistent, and easily accessible, supporting informed decision-making across departments.
Key Functionalities
Although the tab is read-only, it provides automatically populated data based on the styles added to the planner and their associated metadata. This ensures accuracy and consistency across all planning activities.
Each row in the table represents a style and includes the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| In Store Month | When the style is expected to be available in-store. |
| Type | Product category (e.g., Coat, Shoes). |
| Intake Options | Number of variants or options for the style. |
| Total RRP ex tax | Total Recommended Retail Price across all units (excluding tax). |
| Total Cost | Total cost value based on planned quantities. |
| Cost Mix % | Style's cost as a percentage of the total planner cost. |
| Quantity | Total units planned for intake. |
| Average RRP ex tax | Average retail price per unit (excluding tax). |
| Gross Profit % | Estimated margin based on cost and retail pricing. |
A Total row at the bottom summarises all numeric columns across styles, giving a quick snapshot of overall plan performance.
Table Customisation Options
Users can tailor their view with the following table tools:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Sort by | Organise columns in ascending or descending order. |
| Pin Column | Fix key columns in place for easier scrolling. |
| Autosize Column | Automatically adjust width based on content. |
| Choose Columns to Display | Show or hide specific columns. |
| Reset Columns | Restore the table to its default layout. |
Tips
- Use Cost Mix % to ensure a balanced distribution across styles.
- Review Gross Profit % to validate profitability assumptions early.
- Customise your view to focus on intake timing, financial targets, or product mix.
Option Plan Document Export
The Option Plan data can be exported as a document from Planner > Documents. The Option Plan document merges Option Plan Summary and Option Plan inc Styles into a single file with two tabbed views:
| Tab | Description |
|---|---|
| Option Plan inc Styles | Detailed view displaying styles by colour, grouped by In Store Date and Group. Includes Colour and Group columns, style images, totals by In Store by group, and a grand total. |
| Option Plan Summary | Same structure as Tab 1 but without style-level details, providing a concise overview of the planner. |
For guidance on generating and downloading the Option Plan document, refer to Planner › Documents.
