Create Style

The Create Style feature allows users to quickly add a new style record directly from within a planner entry. This is particularly useful for building out ranges during the planning process without going away from the planner view. Initiating new style records from the planner keeps assortment development aligned with the active plan, budgets, and season context without switching modules.

Creating styles within the planner helps connect new developments to planning budgets, seasonality, and customer needs immediately. This streamlines the design-to-production pipeline by linking styles directly to strategic planning targets.

Creating a New Style

  • Style Number is the only required field when creating a style from the Planner. Enter or select a Style Number to save.

  • Once you click Add, the style is created and linked directly to the planner entry.

Simplified Mandatory Fields

When creating a style from the Planner, mandatory field validation from Site Settings > Style > Mandatory Fields is not enforced. Only the Style Number is required. This allows you to quickly create styles during the planning process and complete the remaining details later.

Creating a style from the Main Menu (top navigation + button) continues to enforce all mandatory fields as configured in Site Settings.

Helpful Tips

  1. Quick style creation: You only need a Style Number to get started. Add the remaining details later from the style page when you're ready.
  2. Verify system configuration: Check that all drop-down options (Category, License, Collection, Gender, and Season) are properly configured in Site Settings before creating styles. This ensures the correct options are available when you choose to fill them in.
  3. Link styles to planning targets: When creating styles directly from the planner, take advantage of the immediate connection to planning budgets and seasonality. This helps maintain alignment between your design development and strategic planning objectives throughout the product lifecycle.
