Create New Order

The Create Order feature allows users to initiate an order directly from a planner entry. This streamlines the process of converting planning targets into actionable purchase orders. It is how you place production orders from the planner once buy quantities and styles are ready to move into sourcing and manufacturing.

Order creation from a planner helps bridge the gap between assortment planning and production. Users can link styles, configure order details, and generate orders directly from the planner interface.

  • Confirm Site Settings has mandatory order fields, Critical Path, factories, and order types configured as your organisation requires
  • Open the correct planner entry and verify the style pre-fill matches the line you intend to order

Structure

Element Description
Create Order Button Button in the sidebar widget that opens the order creation popup.
Order Details Popup New Order pop-up that prompts for required order information.
Style Selection Pre-filled style based on the planner record, with option to search and select additional styles.
Required Fields Fields are customisable in Site Settings > Order > General Settings > Mandatory Fields. that must be completed before order creation.
Add Button Confirms and generates the order after all required fields are completed.

Creating an Order from a Planner

  1. Navigate to the desired planner entry and locate the Create Order button in the sidebar widget.
  2. Click the Create Order button to open the order creation popup.
  3. Review the pre-filled style information. Use the Search box to change or select additional styles if needed.
  4. Complete all required fields such as Order Number, Critical Path, Agent, Factory, and Order Type.
  5. Click Add to generate the order.

Required fields for the order popup (such as Critical Path, Order Type, Factory) are managed in Site Settings and may vary depending on your setup: - Critical Path: Site Settings > Order > Critical Path - Factory: Site Settings > Company > Suppliers - Mandatory Fields: Site Settings > Order > General Settings > Mandatory Fields

Helpful Tips

  • Ensure valid Critical Path templates and Factory lists are configured before creating orders.
  • Use description fields clearly to aid in downstream tracking and approval.
  • Orders created from planner entries will maintain visibility links between the plan and the resulting orders.
  • Verify all required fields are completed before clicking Add to avoid errors.

Troubleshooting

The Add button is disabled or the popup shows validation errors—what is missing?

Required fields are defined in Site Settings > Order > General Settings > Mandatory Fields and may include Critical Path, Factory, Order Type, and others.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Complete every required field highlighted in the popup (including any admin-mandated dropdowns).
  2. If a list is empty, configure the corresponding Site Settings page (Critical Path, Suppliers/Factories, etc.) and retry.
The wrong style is pre-filled—how do I correct it before creating the order?

The popup pre-fills from the planner record but you can change style via search.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Use the Search box inside the popup to find the correct style.
  2. Select the intended style, complete required fields, then click Add.
I created an order but cannot see the link back to the planner—where should I look?

Orders created from a planner keep visibility links between the plan and the order.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Open the new order and check planner-related links or widgets your site exposes for plan-to-order traceability.
  2. Use Order History on the planner sidebar to confirm the order appears in the linked list.
