Notifications
Use Settings > Notifications to control how and when 3 Clicks Cloud alerts you about activity across applications you belong to. For each event you can independently choose whether it appears as an In-App notification, whether it is also sent by Email, or both. Preferences apply to your user account only and do not change what other members receive.

Quick Check - Before You Start
- Open Settings from your profile or account menu, then select Notifications.
- Each event row has two checkboxes: one for In-App and one for Email. Tick either, both, or neither to suit how you want to be alerted.
- If you use Do not disturb, every channel is paused while it is enabled—both In-App alerts and Email copies are held until you turn it off again.
- To review items that have already been raised, use the Notifications list.
Who receives notifications?
Delivery depends on your In-App and Email checkboxes and on who performed the action. The user who creates or updates something is not sent In-App or Email notifications for that same activity; alerts go to other eligible members who belong to the application and have the relevant event enabled. That keeps your own changes from duplicating in your notification feed or inbox while other staff stay informed.
Open notification settings
- Sign in to 3 Clicks Cloud.
- Open Settings from the user menu or profile area.
- Click Notifications.
How the panel is laid out
The panel is presented as a two-column matrix. Each event sits on its own row, and there are two checkbox columns on the right:
| Column | What it controls |
|---|---|
| In-App | Whether the event appears in your in-app Notifications centre and produces real-time prompts inside 3 Clicks Cloud. |
| Whether 3 Clicks Cloud also sends you an email when the event happens. |
Some events do not have an email counterpart. On those rows, the Email column shows a dash (—); you can still control the in-app side.
Do Not Disturb
A Do not disturb control sits at the top of the panel, above the per-event notification list.
When enabled, it pauses every channel: both In-App and Email notifications until you turn it off. Use this when you need to focus.

Troubleshooting
Why do emails for comments and approvals come from different areas of the application?
Email notifications can be triggered from different sections within the application, depending on where the action was performed.
For example, an Approve Activity email may be triggered from Critical Path when an activity such as Pre Production Sample Report is approved. A separate email may be triggered from the Sample Report section when a note is added to a sample report such as PP Sample. Although both emails can relate to the same overall workflow, they originated from two separate areas of the application: Critical Path and Sample Report.
When Application comments has Email enabled (under Application Notifications > Comments above)—worded in some places as comments sent to applications you are a member of—you receive email notifications whenever a comment or note is added to any item where you are listed as a member. This behaviour applies across supported sections of the application, including Critical Path activities and Sample Reports.
I ticked a row but I never get emails.
Email delivery depends on the Email checkbox being ticked for that specific event, your organisation’s email configuration, and spam or quarantine rules.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the Email checkbox is ticked on the event row (the In-App checkbox is independent—ticking it does not enable email).
- Confirm Do not disturb is off; while it is on, no email is sent.
- Check junk or clutter folders and allowlist your 3 Clicks Cloud notification sender domain (as advised by your administrator).
- If others receive mail but you do not, verify your user profile email address in Settings.
Real-time alerts stopped but I did not change my toggles.
Do not disturb suppresses every channel—In-App and Email—while it is on, even when individual events remain ticked.
Steps to resolve:
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Turn Do not disturb off.
- If alerts are still missing, sign out and back in, then test with a known event (for example a mention on an application you belong to).
I want in-app alerts but no email for an event.
Because In-App and Email are independent, you can tick one column and clear the other for any event.
Steps to resolve:
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Find the event row.
- Tick In-App and clear Email (or the reverse if you prefer email-only).
I get too many notifications. How do I reduce noise without turning everything off?
Use a combination of global and per-event controls.
Steps to resolve:
- Use the Email column Select All on the Application Notifications master row to clear email for everything at once, then re-tick only the events that warrant email.
- Disable categories you do not own (for example Sales order if you never work on customer portal orders) by clearing both In-App and Email on those rows.
- Use Do not disturb during focused work blocks instead of clearing subscriptions you will need again later.
Why does the Email column show a dash on some rows?
A few events do not have an email version yet, so the Email column shows — instead of a checkbox. You can still tick or clear In-App for those rows; email will be added in a future release where applicable.
