The License General Settings section provides administrative control for configuring how the Licensing Application operates across the platform. These options help businesses tailor licensing features to match operational requirements.

These settings control whether the licensing module is active and define how supporting folders are created for new license records. This allows organizations to streamline file storage and limit unnecessary modules when licensing is not in use.

  • Confirm with legal and operations whether the License application should appear in navigation for all users.
  • If enabling default folders, agree the folder naming pattern with the team that uploads contracts and certificates.
  • Communicate before disabling the module so open license work is completed or reassigned.

  • Enable/Disable License Application
    Toggle this setting to turn the License Application on or off. This is useful for businesses that do not require license tracking within their workflow.

  • Default Folder Configuration
    When enabled, a default folder structure is automatically created every time a new license is added. This supports consistent document management and helps teams organize files from the start.

Troubleshooting

Why did the License menu disappear for my users?

Enable/Disable License Application removes the module from navigation when turned off.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Re-open Site Settings › License › General Settings and enable the application if licensing is still required.
  2. Ask users to refresh their browser after the change propagates.
Why are folders not created on new licenses?

Automatic folders must be toggled on and saved before creating the record.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Enable Default Folder Configuration and save.
  2. Create a test license; existing licenses will not retroactively receive folders.
Can I recover documents if someone disabled licensing mid-project?

Disabling stops new entries but does not automatically delete historical files; access may simply be hidden.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Re-enable the module to restore navigation.
  2. Work with your administrator if records still do not appear—data retention depends on your deployment policies.
