Activities

The Activities section enables users to define and manage milestone actions that are tracked and executed throughout the order management process. These records provide a structured way to monitor updates, progress, and key stages across order workflows.

Activities represent specific steps or actions within an order's lifecycle—such as booking, packing, quality checks, dispatch, or delivery. By managing these centrally, teams can standardise tasks, improve traceability, and ensure operational consistency.

The Activities section allows you to create a consistent set of order-related actions that can be assigned, tracked, and monitored across all order records. These activities help ensure that critical order milestones are not overlooked and provide visibility into the progress of each order workflow.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • You can access Site Settings › Orders › Activities
  • Agree activity names with operations so they match how milestones appear on orders
  • Prefer Disable over delete when you must keep historical order timelines intact

Managing Activities

Add Activity

  1. Click the Add New button at the top left.
  2. Enter the activity name or description in the required field.
  3. Click Save to add the activity to the order.

  1. Click the pen icon next to the activity you'd like to modify.
  2. Make the required updates to the activity name or description.
  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

Common Pitfall

Deleting an activity removes it from the master list and can confuse historical order milestones. Disable when you need to retire a step but keep audit context.

  • Single delete: Click the trashcan icon next to an activity and confirm the deletion.

Other Actions

  • Filter – View activities by Status (Enabled or Disabled) or by Group. Filter
  • History – Export a detailed log of activity changes and version history for auditing purposes. History
  • Export – Download the complete list of order activities in .xlsx format. Export

Table Flexibility

Users can tailor the table layout using the following controls:

Sort by Ascending or Descending Reorder activities by Description or Status.
Pin Column Lock important columns in place while scrolling.
Autosize This Column Automatically resize the specific column to fit their content.
Autosize All Columns Applies autosizing on all columns.
Choose Columns Show or hide individual table columns.
Reset Columns Return the table to the default configuration.

  • Use clear naming conventions to make activities easy to filter and assign across different order records.
  • Disable unused activities instead of deleting them to retain historical context and maintain audit trails.
  • Use exports for weekly progress reviews and operational audits to track activity completion rates.
  • Regularly review activity lists to ensure they align with current operational workflows and supply chain requirements.
  • Document activity purposes and expected outcomes to help team members understand their responsibilities.
  • Use consistent terminology across activities to improve searchability and reporting accuracy.
  • Order activities often map directly to your supply chain process—review periodically to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Troubleshooting

Why is an activity missing on some orders?

Activities may be filtered by Group or Status, or the milestone template on the order may differ.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Confirm the activity is Enabled in Site Settings › Orders › Activities
  2. Compare the order’s critical path template with the activity list
Why can’t users find an activity when filtering?

Naming drift or inconsistent group labels hides rows.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Export the list and standardise descriptions with operations
  2. Use Filter by Group to verify assignments
How do I audit activity master data changes?
