Milestone

The Milestone section enables users to define and manage key workflow checkpoints within the order lifecycle. Milestones help track important phases, improve visibility, and ensure accountability from order creation through to delivery.

Milestone

Each milestone represents a structured stage that orders must pass through (e.g., Order Confirmed, Production Started, Quality Check) and can be linked to specific fields, activities, and reports. These assignments help track progress, align responsibilities across departments, and generate milestone-level performance metrics.

The Milestone section allows you to create a consistent set of workflow checkpoints that can be assigned and tracked across order records. These milestones help ensure that responsibility is clearly defined and provide visibility into progress by phase.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • You can edit Site Settings › Orders › Milestone
  • Confirm how Report Summary and Sort By fields should read before users rely on dashboards
  • Link the right Activity rows so milestone reporting matches operations

Delete Milestone

Common Pitfall

Deleting milestones disrupts historical milestone reports. Disable when you must retire a stage but keep past orders meaningful.

  • Single delete: Click the trashcan icon next to a milestone and confirm the deletion.
  • Bulk delete: Use checkboxes to select multiple milestones, then confirm deletion.

Other Actions

  • Filter – View milestones by Status (Enabled or Disabled).
  • Search – Use the search bar to locate specific milestones.

Table Flexibility

Users can tailor the table layout using the following controls:

Feature Description
Sort by Ascending or Descending Reorder milestones alphabetically or by priority.
Pin Column Lock important columns in place while scrolling.
Autosize This Column Automatically resize the specific column to fit its content.
Autosize All Columns Applies autosizing on all columns.
Choose Columns Show or hide individual table columns.
Reset Columns Return the table to the default configuration.
Tips
  • Use milestones to align your internal timeline with supplier and production expectations.
  • Include sorting logic to prioritise milestones based on reporting relevance.
  • Assign activities to each milestone to track task completion and link to dashboard reporting.
  • Disable unused milestones instead of deleting them to retain historical context and maintain audit trails.
  • Use consistent naming conventions to align with company reporting structures and make milestones easy to filter across order records.
  • Regularly review milestone lists to ensure they align with current workflow and business objectives.
