Target Budget
The Target Budget section allows users to define, edit, and manage financial target templates that are applied to planners. These targets help guide product development, assortment planning, and profitability goals across the business.
Each target budget includes financial benchmarks such as unit costs, selling price targets, margins, and planned quantities. Assigning target budgets to planners ensures that all planning is aligned with business strategy and financial performance expectations.

Common Pitfall
Deleting a target budget removes the template planners rely on for comparisons. Disable when the scenario is retired but historical plans should still reference it.
- Single delete: Click the trashcan icon and confirm the deletion.
- Bulk delete: Use checkboxes to select multiple records, then confirm the deletion.
Other Actions
- Filter – Toggle between Enabled and Disabled target budgets.
- Export – Download the full list of target budgets in
.xlsxformat. - History – Export the change log in
.xlsxformat for auditing and review.
Table Flexibility
Users can customize the target budget table layout with the following options:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Sort by | Reorder by name, margin, or last modified. |
| Pin Column | Lock essential columns for persistent visibility. |
| Autosize Column | Auto-adjust columns to fit content. |
| Choose Columns to Display | Show or hide columns as needed. |
| Reset Columns | Return the table to the default layout. |
Reference Price and Planner Group Totals
Each target budget template can define a Reference Price that drives how values roll up for comparison in the planner. In Planner › Styles, when a target budget is selected, Group rows show Total Value derived from that reference (and quantity), plus Target Budget and Budget Variance (Target Budget − Total Value). Supported reference prices include RRP ex tax, Total Cost, Buy Price, Sell Price, and Retail Price, depending on how the template is configured.
For how these fields appear in the Styles Group view, see Planner › Styles.
Tips
- Use unique budget names like “AW24 Footwear - High Margin” to easily identify plans.
- Duplicate templates for seasonal variations or channel-specific goals.
- Export budget configurations during planning rounds or review cycles.
