Category

The Category section allows you to define and manage product categories that classify styles across the platform. Categories are essential for reporting, filtering, and organising styles by merchandise group, season, or business unit.

Each category serves as a high-level grouping (e.g., Womenswear, Menswear, Accessories, Homeware). These groupings help structure product libraries, align with merchandising plans, and support dashboard segmentation.

Pro tips
  • Use a Clear Hierarchy: For easier filtering and reporting, use a consistent naming convention that reflects your merchandising structure (e.g., Womenswear - Tops, Menswear - Outerwear).
  • Preserve Data: It is best practice to Disable unused categories instead of deleting them. This preserves the data integrity of past styles and orders associated with those categories.
  • Regularly Align with Teams: Periodically export the category list to share with your merchandising, sales, and finance teams to ensure everyone is aligned with the current category structure and usage.
