Type
The Type section allows you to define and manage style types that help categorise products across design, development, planning, and reporting workflows. These types are often used to represent product families such as Tops, Bottoms, Outerwear, or Footwear.
Assigning types to styles improves filtering, data organisation, and visual consistency across the platform. Types can also be used to drive reporting, dashboards, approval flows, and tech pack formatting.
Quick Check - Before You Start
- You can edit Site Settings › Style › Type
- Align type names with your assortment architecture (for example Tops, Bottoms, Outerwear)

|---|---|
| Sort by | Organise types alphabetically or by the date they were last modified. |
| Pin Column | Lock important columns in place for consistent visibility while scrolling. |
| Autosize Column | Automatically adjust column widths to fit the content. |
| Show/Hide Columns | Choose which columns to display to create a tailored view. |
| Reset Columns | Restore the table to its default layout. |
Pro tips
- Maintain Consistency: Use a standard naming convention (e.g., Tops, Bottoms) to ensure accurate filtering and reporting.
- Preserve Historical Data: It is best practice to Disable unused types instead of deleting them. This preserves the data integrity of past styles associated with them.
- Align with Merchandising: Periodically export the type list to share with your merchandising and planning teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with the current product structure.

Why is a type missing when I edit a style?
It may be Disabled.
Steps to resolve:
- Open Site Settings › Style › Type
- Use Filter to include Disabled and enable if it should be selectable
How should we onboard a new category structure?
Steps to resolve:
- Add types first, then communicate the list with training screenshots
