Style Duplicate
The Duplicate function within the Style module enables users to efficiently create a new style by copying an existing record. This feature is particularly useful for building collections with similar attributes or repeating base templates across products. It is commonly used to clone a style for a new season, colourway, or derivative while reusing structure you already validated.

Duplicating a style minimises manual entry and ensures consistency across similar styles. Users can customise what parts of the original style are carried over to the new style during duplication. This ensures only relevant data is copied, helping maintain accuracy and reducing unnecessary updates.

How to Duplicate a Style
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Navigate to the style you wish to duplicate. |
| 2 | Click the Duplicate button located in the side widget. |
| 3 | In the pop-up window, complete all required fields. |
| 4 | Select which tabs or details to carry over (see Duplication Options below). |
| 5 | Click Save to create the duplicated style. |
Duplication Options
When duplicating a style, users can choose which information is carried over into the new version. These options are presented during the duplication process.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Colours & Pricing | Copies all associated colourways, pricing details, and related configurations. |
| Members | Duplicates the assigned team members responsible for the style. |
| Weight | Includes the style's weight information. |
| Definition | Transfers the style's core definition, including key attributes and descriptions. |
| Specification | Carries over all technical specifications and requirements. |
| Packaging | Duplicates packaging instructions and related details. |
| Add as Related Style | Automatically links the duplicated style to the original as a related item. |
Add as Related Style
The Add as Related Style option creates a link between the original style and the duplicated one. This is helpful when managing related products such as main range vs. plus-size, colour extensions, or seasonal carryovers.
When you tick Add as Related Style during duplication:
- The new style will appear under Related Styles in the original style.
- The original style will also appear as a related item in the duplicated version.
- This link is purely organisational; it does not sync or update specifications automatically.
If the box is not ticked:
- You can still link the styles afterwards.
- Open the Style > Related tab and manually add the related style there.
Note
To learn more about Style > Related Styles, go to: Related Styles
Remember
Related Styles is simply a connection for visibility and reference, not to sync styles.
Admin Configuration Required
The fields required during duplication are configured in Site Settings > Style. Ensure these are properly maintained to avoid duplication errors.
Best Practices
Review Before Saving: Review copied sections carefully to ensure that all inherited details remain accurate for the new style.
Avoid Clutter: Only duplicate styles when necessary to avoid clutter in your product catalogue.
Related Styles: Use Add as Related Style when the new style is a variant or extension of the original (e.g. colour extensions, size variants) to keep relationships clear.
