Style Status

The Status feature in the Style module allows users to define the current stage of a style's lifecycle. The default Style Statuses are Draft, Approved, and Cancelled. This visual indicator makes it easier to organise and filter style records based on progress and workflow readiness across dashboards and reports. Your organisation may map these values to a broader development workflow—concept, sampling, approved, production-ready—so gates and reporting stay aligned with how styles move from idea to buy.

Status Dropdown

Updating the status of a style helps teams track its development stage—from initial concept through finalisation or retirement. The status appears on the style card and can be used for filtering across dashboards, reports, and search views. Status changes take effect immediately and provide a clear at-a-glance view of where each style sits in the workflow.

Core Actions

These actions are available to all users with access to the style record and allow for basic status management.

Feature Description
Update Style Status Locate the Status button at the bottom of the style card. Click the button to open the dropdown, then select the desired status (e.g., Draft, Approved, Cancelled). The selected status will immediately update and appear on the card.

These features define how status values are used and displayed across the system.

Feature Description
Status Options The default status values are Draft, Approved, and Cancelled. Immediate Update Status changes take effect immediately. The new status is reflected on the card and across the system without requiring a page refresh.
Filtering and Reporting Status values are used as filters in dashboards and reporting views, enabling teams to focus on styles at specific stages of the lifecycle.
Draft to Approved When Order is Created

If a Style is in Draft, it will automatically update to Approved when an Order is created for the Style.

Important Notes When Using Status

Status Configuration: Available status options are configured in Site Settings › Style › General Settings › Status. Contact your system administrator if expected status values are not visible.

Workflow Impact: Status changes may affect how styles appear in dashboards, reports, and approval workflows. Ensure the correct status is set before handovers or approvals.

Immediate Effect: Status updates are applied immediately and cannot be undone through the status dropdown. Revert by selecting the previous status if needed.

Best Practices

Use Draft for Early Development: Use Draft when the style is still in early development or pending details.

Switch to Approved When Finalised: Switch to Approved once the style is finalised and moving into production or sales.

Set Cancelled for Discontinued Styles: Set the status to Cancelled for styles that are no longer in use or have been discontinued.

Leverage Filtering: Use status filters in dashboards and reporting views to focus on styles at specific stages and improve workflow visibility.
