Style Import Fields and Rules

This guide explains the fields and rules you need to follow when importing Specification Templates. The import function lets you upload multiple spec templates at once using an Excel template, making it easier than adding them one by one in Site Settings > Style > Spec Template. Imported templates appear in Site Settings > Style > Spec Template and are ready to use across styles. Some field values must already exist in Site Settings, and several columns are pre-filled from the Size Scale you select before you download the template.

Quick Check - Before You Start
  • In the import pop-up, choose Size Scale, Reference Size, and Unit before downloading the template so pre-filled columns are correct.
  • Confirm Grade Type and other entered values use the allowed options (Single, Multiple, Exact, etc.) described on this page.
  • If you need How to Measure text per POM, enable Include how to measure in the specification table under Site Settings > Style > General Settings > Specification before building the file.
  • After import, always download the Import Summary to validate success and errors.

How to Measure column

This column only appears in the Import Spec Template when Include how to measure in the specification table is enabled in Site Settings > Style > General Settings > Specification. If this column is present in an imported template file but the setting is disabled, it will be ignored during import.

Note

Troubleshooting

My Grade Type or tolerance values are rejected—what should I check?

Grade Type must be one of Single, Multiple, or Exact, and numeric tolerance columns must contain valid values for the unit and scale you selected.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Re-read the field definitions in the table on this page.
  2. Fix invalid text or numbers in the spreadsheet and re-import.
  3. Use the Import Summary to see the exact failure reason per row.
Pre-filled Size Scale or Unit columns do not match my spec—why?

Those columns are filled from the Size Scale, Reference Size, and Unit you select in the import pop-up before download. Editing them inconsistently can break the link to the configuration the import expects.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Close the template and re-open the import pop-up with the correct Size Scale, Reference Size, and Unit.
  2. Download a new template and transfer your measurement rows into the fresh file without corrupting pre-filled identifiers.
  3. Import again and confirm in the Import Summary.
I imported successfully but cannot find the template—where does it go?

Successful imports list templates under Site Settings > Style > Spec Template.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Open Site Settings, navigate to Style > Spec Template, and search or scroll for the Template Description you used.
  2. If the template is missing, open the Import Summary from the import workflow to see whether rows failed or were skipped.
  3. Correct any errors reported there and re-import as needed.
