Style Custom Fields
The Custom Field section in the Style application enables teams to collect additional, workflow-specific data. These fields enhance the standard style form by providing dynamic configuration tailored to your operational needs.
Custom fields appear within each style and are designed to support flexible data capture without requiring database schema changes. This approach ensures adaptability across different business processes and reporting requirements.
All custom fields are defined in Site Settings > Style > Custom Fields. Once configured, they automatically appear in the Custom Field section of the Style view.
Quick Check - Before You Start
- Create or update field definitions in Site Settings > Style > Custom Fields; they do not appear on the style until configured there.
- Know which field type (Dropdown, Multiselect, Date, Text) each setting uses so you enter valid values on the style.
Field Types
Each field can be configured with an input type tailored to the kind of information you need to capture. Selecting the appropriate field type ensures data consistency, simplifies management, and aligns with your workflow requirements.
| Field Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Dropdown | Allows users to select a single option from a predefined list, ensuring standardised and controlled data entry. |
| Multiselect Dropdown | Enables selection of multiple options when more than one value is relevant. Ideal for tagging, categorisation, or capturing combined attributes. |
| Date | Provides a calendar picker for selecting specific dates. Useful for setting deadlines, target timelines, release dates, or key milestones. |
| Text | Accepts free-form input for notes, descriptions, references, or any information requiring flexibility in format or detail. |
Admin Configuration Required
All custom fields must be defined in Style > Custom Fields before they appear in the main Style page. Review and maintain the field list regularly to align with your evolving data needs.

Troubleshooting
The Custom Field section is empty on my style—why?
Fields are defined globally in Site Settings; the style page only displays what has been configured.
Steps to resolve:
- Open Site Settings > Style > Custom Fields.
- Add the fields you need and ensure they are active for use on styles.
- Reload the style record and check the Custom Field section again.
A dropdown on the style has no options—how do I fix it?
Dropdown and Multiselect Dropdown fields rely on predefined option lists in Site Settings.
Steps to resolve:
- Edit the field in Site Settings > Style > Custom Fields and populate or correct the option list.
- Save, then return to the style and select a value.
We captured the wrong data type for a field—can I change it on the style only?
Field type (Text, Date, Dropdown, and so on) is part of the field definition, not something you change per style row.
Steps to resolve:
- Plan the correct type and options in Site Settings (you may need a new field if types are incompatible).
- Update Custom Fields accordingly and migrate or re-enter data as your process requires.
