Style Specification
The Specification section provides a central location for managing all style-related details, ensuring accurate and consistent product creation.
The Specification section enables you to add and update measurements, use templates for efficiency, and incorporate visual elements like sketches and images. By managing these components in one place, teams can maintain consistency across styles, streamline communication with suppliers, and support quality control throughout production.
Effective management of style specifications involves standardising templates, regularly updating measurements, and defining tolerance ranges to avoid production discrepancies. The section is organised into five key areas: Details, Sketches, Images, Measurements, and Comments—each supporting a different aspect of your tech pack and spec documentation.

Quick Check - Before You Start
- Open the style you need to spec and confirm you have edit access to the Specification tab.
- Ensure specification templates, POMs, and size scale are configured in Site Settings so dropdowns and measurement grids populate correctly.
- If you rely on How to Measure, verify it is enabled under Site Settings > Style > General Settings > Specification.

Measurements
The Measurements section is a critical component in managing garment specifications. It enables you to define, track, and maintain consistency across all key measurement points for a style, ensuring accuracy in production and alignment with design intent.
Columns Available
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| POM (Point of Measurement) | The specific location on the garment being measured. |
| Description | A brief explanation of what is being measured (e.g., chest width, sleeve length). |
| How to Measure | Detailed measurement instructions for each POM, helping your team and suppliers understand exactly how measurements should be taken. This column is optional and can be enabled in Site Settings > Style > General Settings > Specification. |
| Grade Type | Indicates the method used to scale measurements between sizes (e.g., linear, proportional). |
| Grade | The numerical difference between sizes, based on the Grade Type. |
| Tol + / Tol - | Tolerance values that define the acceptable range of variation above (+) or below (−) the specified measurement. |
Add Measurement
- Click Add Measurement to open the pop-up.
- Enter the Description (required) and complete the POM, reference size measurement, and tolerance (±) fields.
- Configure Grade Type and grade values if needed.
- Click Save to add the measurement.
The pop-up displays the grading template, including the unit of measurement and size scale. The reference size is automatically highlighted based on your specification template settings.

Add Existing Measurements
- Click Add Existing Measurements.
- Select measurements from another spec template.
- Confirm to add them to your current spec.
The following fields are copied: POM, Description, and Tol+ & Tol-.
Note
Only grades from single grade type are currently supported. Multiple grade type is not yet supported.

Next Steps
Troubleshooting
Why can’t I add measurements from another template?
Add Existing Measurements only copies grades when the source template uses a single grade type; multiple grade types are not supported for that copy action.
Steps to resolve:
- Pick a source template that uses one grade type, or add measurements manually on this style.
- Align grade type with your administrator if templates need to be standardised.
The How to Measure column is missing—how do I turn it on?
The column is optional and controlled in Site Settings.
Steps to resolve:
- Ask an administrator to enable How to Measure under Site Settings > Style > General Settings > Specification.
- Reload the Specification tab after the setting is saved.
Why don’t updated measurements from a sample report show clearly?
Revisions pushed from Order > Samples > Sample Report are highlighted in the Style Specification measurements grid when they differ from the original spec.
Steps to resolve:
- Open Measurements and look for highlighting on revised rows.
- If nothing is highlighted, confirm the sample report push completed and that you are viewing the correct style record.
