Sample Requirements
The Sample Requirements section in the Supplier Portal enables suppliers to view sample requests shared by customers and enter Sample Cost and Currency directly in the portal. These requirements originate from Style > Samples or Order > Samples and define sample types, sizes, colours, quantities, and deadlines.
Sample Requirements can be linked to Styles (product development and pre-production) or Orders (production samples, size sets, or shipment verification). When customers share sample requirements with you, you can view the full details and enter cost information to support transparent tracking and approval workflows.
Data entered in the portal is synced across Style, Order, and the Supplier Portal, ensuring customers see your sample cost and currency in Style > Samples > Sample Requirements and Order > Samples > Sample Requirements without manual updates.
To access Sample Requirements, open a Style or Order from the main portal view, navigate to the Samples tab, and locate the Sample Requirements section.
Quick Check - Before You Start
- Open the correct Style or Order and switch to the Samples tab before editing costs
- Confirm the customer’s Currency list in Site Settings includes the code you need to quote

Troubleshooting
I cannot see Sample Requirements on the Samples tab—where are they?
Requirements appear only after the customer shares them from Style > Samples or Order > Samples.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm with the customer that the sample request was published to your portal account.
- Refresh the style or order record and reopen the Samples tab.
The Currency I need is missing from the dropdown—what should I do?
Currency options are defined by the customer in Site Settings > Company > Currency.
Steps to resolve:
- Message the customer to add the required currency code on their side.
- Temporarily choose the closest approved currency only if the customer explicitly allows it.
My Sample Cost saved but the customer says they still see an old value—why?
Data should sync back to Style > Samples > Sample Requirements and Order > Samples > Sample Requirements; stale browser tabs can mask updates.
Steps to resolve:
- Click Save again after editing Sample Cost and Currency.
- Ask the customer to hard-refresh their view or reopen the requirement panel.
Helpful Tips
- Enter sample costs promptly when requirements are shared to support accurate budgeting and approval workflows.
- Use the correct currency as configured by the customer to ensure consistent reporting.
